JOIN our SARASOTA 'VISIBILITY BRIGADE'  Rush Hour Resistance  EVERY FRIDAY MORNING from 8 AM to 9 AM - weather permitting, at the Legacy Trail Pedestrian Bridge OVERPASS on CLARK AVE. at the intersection of MCINTOSH ROAD. Participants meet to hold up messaging signs, wave flags, and display banners to passing traffic.  The Visibility Brigade is a national movement, which emphasizes a strict non-confrontational approach. If you are participating or passing by, the organizers' protocol includes: - De-escalation: No engagement with hecklers or agitators. - Positive Vibes: Waving, using bubbles, or wearing costumes to maintain a high-energy, peace.

We'll be reminding our like-minded neighbors about the important summer election, making sure they have access to candidate names and information, and encouraging them to be prepared to Vote by Mail or Vote Early in Person.   It's the best way to make sure they vote and use their voice!  Blue voters who are enrolled in Vote by Mail have a 90-95% turn out rate! Sign up and join us for an afternoon of work and friendship!  Meet like minded Dems!  We will be working on a series of mailings to Democrats and left leaning NPAs in Sarasota County.  These are fun and important sessions.  A light lunch will be provided.  No experience needed!

RALLY EVERY TUESDAY from 9 -11am with INDIVISIBLE SARASOTA outside the Siesta Drive Social Security Office - we gather to say 'HANDS OFF SOCIAL SECURITY' and to show our outrage of what the Trump administration is doing to our country, the people and the Constitution. BRING YOUR SIGNS and BRING YOUR FRIENDS (and a folding chair if needed) Bring a sign about Social Security or any other topic related to the resistance against the MAGA attack on our democracy! Parking is right across Siesta Drive in the empty shopping mall parking lot. The rally is in the shade and during morning rush hour, so it will be relatively cool but with a lot of visibility. By persisting week after week, we are showing our neighbors in Sarasota that we are in this for the long term and will persevere as long as necessary. Expect lots of supportive honking of horns.

Commit to the work to ensure liberty and equality for All of U.S. This year marks the 250th Anniversary of America’s Declaration of Independence, and our country is at an unprecedented crossroads. At a time when our country should be coming together to celebrate all that we are, how far we’ve come, and commit to finishing the work to make America a place where freedom and equality are truly for all, a white supremacist faction is pushing our country in the opposite direction. The MAGA regime is in the midst of trying to whitewash our past so they can whitewash our future. We can see this in their attempts to not just erase the history of enslavement and genocide, but roll back hard-won civil rights victories. We refuse to comply. While they plan a whitewashed celebration of the 250th.
