Jimmy Glover enters with more than $102,000 raised in District 1, Megan Tennimon with just over $40,000 in District 4, and Beth Mayberry with just over $54,000 in District 5 — each leading their Republican-endorsed opponents. A supporting PAC, Fair Governance for Florida, has reported about $80,000 raised behind all three. The Republican Party of Sarasota County has endorsed Brandt in District 1, DiCicco in District 4, and Pozzie in District 5, setting up a test of whether party backing or campaign resources carry more weight.

Julie London (Ferguson) has qualified and is uncontested for the Democratic nomination in District 4, securing a General Election contest against whichever Republican — incumbent Joe Neunder or challenger Jim DeNiro — wins the August 18 primary. Neunder leads fundraising with more than $128,000 raised; DeNiro has raised more than $72,000 through his candidate account and another $30,000 through a supporting committee. London has raised about $1,000. The District 2 seat drew no serious Democratic candidate — David Dean spoke to 10 or so potential candidates, all of whom declined. The general election matchup is set; the immediate fight is the August Republican primary.
Florida Politics Delegation - June 12, 2026
Army veteran Jon Harris, former Sarasota Mayor Kelly Kirschner, and Air Force veteran and teacher Tamika Lyles qualified for a Democratic primary, as did former broadcast journalist Glenn Pearson and healthcare policy expert Jan Schneider. The full five-candidate field is now locked in ahead of the August 18 primary. Kirschner entered the race with the most momentum — he raised more than $100,000 in his first week, without corporate PACs, and secured an endorsement from former St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman. 🔗 floridapolitics.com
WUSF NBC News June 11, 2026
The Florida Supreme Court in a 6-1 decision denied a request for a temporary injunction against the DeSantis-drawn congressional map, saying the court lacked jurisdiction to intervene while the case plays out in the lower courts. The new map could give Republicans four additional House seats, shifting the congressional delegation toward a projected 24-4 Republican-Democratic split. In a dissent, Justice Jorge Labarga argued the constitution anticipates that urgent matters require expedited review, writing that "the upcoming 2026 congressional elections affecting the representation of millions of Floridians" clearly meet that threshold. The underlying legal challenge by Common Cause and Equal Ground Florida continues — but the maps are in place for 2026.

Hyde is now one of five candidates filed in Senate District 22, joining Republicans James Buchanan and Vic Rohe and Democrats Arianna O'Donnell and Lew Wasserman. He's running explicitly against development interests and the Live Local Act, saying his Republican-backed opponent "has close to $2 million in campaign funds" and that it's obvious how those donors expect to get it back. This is the most current confirmation that SD-22 has a full five-candidate field. Hyde as an NPA spoiler could complicate the math for both parties depending on how he draws from disaffected Republican voters. Florida Politics

A weekend Substack writeup highlights her campaign graphic positioning her against AI data centers, developer money, and as the only Democrat who'd sit on the Commission since 1970. She's running on neighborhood character, affordability, public schools, and environmental protection. Website votejulielondon.com is set to go live this coming week.

Nixon publicly framed the primary as a contest between institutionally protected centrist money and a progressive firebrand capable of actually motivating voters. She called out Vindman without naming him: "Quiet, timid, status quo leadership is not going to beat Ashley Moody. I don't care how much establishment money or Chuck Schumer money you have behind you." She also said she has been frustrated in efforts to get a debate scheduled, claiming Vindman hasn't engaged with organizations seeking to host one. As of end of March, Vindman had raised nearly $8.19 million with $6.44 million cash on hand. Nixon had raised close to $294,000 with under $178,000 in the bank.🔗 floridapolitics.com

A new WMNF piece dated June 4 features Jonathan Harris (Jacksonville native, Army veteran), Tamika Lyles, Glenn Pearson, and Jan Schneider — plus NPA Mark Davis — addressing affordability, healthcare, tariffs, and Congressional accountability. The August 18 Dem primary is increasingly crowded.

Julie London is the only Democrat so far to qualify for the District 4 race, where incumbent Commissioner Joe Neunder will face former police officer Jim DeNiro in the Republican primary. SCDP Chair David Dean said he had spoken to ten or so potential candidates for the District 2 seat — the one viewed as Democrats' best chance at breaking the streak — and all of them declined. The piece frames the situation honestly: the real primary action is on the Republican side, but the national environment may offer some downballot lift. YourSun
